Archiving Policy

Archiving and Digital Preservation

The International Journal for Research in Chemistry (IJRC) is committed to supporting the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of its published scholarly content. The journal recognizes the importance of preserving the academic record and maintaining access to scientific research for future generations of researchers, academicians, and readers.

Digital Preservation Framework

IJRC may use recognized digital preservation services, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) , to support the long-term archiving of journal content. Developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP), PKP PN provides a distributed preservation service for eligible journals using Open Journal Systems (OJS). Where the journal is enrolled and preservation is active, its eligible published content can be preserved through this network.

Key Preservation Objectives

Long-Term Accessibility

Support the continued availability of published research and associated bibliographic information over time.

Content Integrity

Promote the preservation of published articles as part of the permanent scholarly record.

Risk Mitigation

Encourage appropriate preservation measures to reduce risks associated with data loss, technical failures, and changes in digital technology.

Scope of Archived Content

The journal aims to preserve its published scholarly record, including research articles, review papers, and relevant article metadata, through appropriate digital archiving arrangements. Its scope includes research in:

  • Organic and inorganic chemistry
  • Analytical and physical chemistry
  • Applied and industrial chemistry
  • Environmental and pharmaceutical chemistry
  • Materials science and interdisciplinary chemical research

Continuity of Access

IJRC aims to maintain access to its published research through suitable preservation and backup arrangements. Where an external preservation service is active, archived content may remain recoverable even if the journal website experiences technical disruption or becomes unavailable. The availability of preserved content depends on the services and arrangements actually in place.

Commitment to Scholarly Preservation

The International Journal for Research in Chemistry (IJRC) recognizes digital preservation as an important part of responsible scholarly publishing. The journal aims to maintain the reliability, discoverability, and long-term accessibility of its published research in chemistry and related scientific disciplines through appropriate archiving practices.
